Joe Mullins Congressman
CEO and president of The Mullins Companies

Congressman Joe Mullins has built a career shaped by persistence, responsibility, and a willingness to step into challenging situations. As CEO and president of The Mullins Companies, he leads a diverse organization that includes Mullins Properties and Mullins Sports & Entertainment. What began as a small collection of business efforts has grown into an enterprise operating across real estate, sports, entertainment, and media. His work reflects a steady focus on creating practical value while staying closely connected to the communities where he lives and serves.

Joe’s path is rooted in his upbringing in Evans, Georgia, where early experiences helped form his work ethic and leadership style. During high school, he was involved in athletics, theater, and several leadership programs, including FBLA, Jr. Achievement, and 4H. These activities exposed him to teamwork, accountability, and communication, which later became core strengths throughout his professional life.

He earned a BBA in Business Management from the University of Georgia and later attended UCLA, where he studied under well-known Hollywood agent Henry Holmes. This experience provided Joe with insight into the entertainment industry and expanded his understanding of negotiation, relationships, and strategic planning. With both business training and creative exposure, he began pursuing opportunities that blended structure with vision.

Joe entered the sports and entertainment field by representing athletes and entertainers who later became widely recognized and were inducted into the NFL and boxing Hall of Fame. Through this work, he learned the importance of trust, preparation, and long-term thinking. He also interned with the Anthony Robbins companies, gaining practical skills that supported his professional development and personal growth.

Over time, Joe expanded his focus into entrepreneurship across multiple industries. His ventures grew to include restaurants, franchise stores, construction projects, and real estate investments throughout the Southeast. His real estate portfolio steadily expanded to include more than 800 multifamily units along with several commercial properties. Even during periods of uncertainty, including the COVID-19 storm, Joe led his teams through recovery, improving occupancy rates and restoring stability across his properties.

Joe’s approach to business is active and hands-on. He often acquires distressed properties, invests in improvements, and works to turn them into productive assets that support local economies. Partnerships and redevelopment efforts have played an essential role in The Mullins Companies' expansion of its reach and influence. His sports and entertainment division has also grown by securing major corporate clients and sponsorships tied to college playoffs and national championship games.

Public service has been another essential chapter in Joe’s career. Deeply connected to the area, Joe Mullins, Flagler, served as Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, focusing on progress-oriented initiatives. His work included expanding broadband access to underserved areas, securing funding for mental health services, and collaborating with state and federal partners on disaster recovery efforts.

During times of crisis, including hurricanes and the pandemic, Joe helped guide the County toward fiscal stability. His leadership supported funding for beach nourishment, workforce housing initiatives, and long-term infrastructure improvements. He also served as Vice Chair on the National Association of Counties Broadband Committee, allowing him to advocate for rural broadband expansion. In addition, he supported services addressing suicide and addiction, recognizing their impact on the community.

Joe also built a strong presence in media through his radio program, “Live, Work, Shop, Play in Florida,” which airs on Salem Media radio and online platforms. The show reaches millions of listeners across Florida and Georgia and features conversations with political leaders, business executives, athletes, authors, and entertainers. His direct and conversational style has helped the program grow steadily in regional influence.

Philanthropy remains central to his work. Through Mullins Charities, Joe has helped raise more than $10 million for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Club, and the Salvation Army. Joe Mullins of Augusta has also supported local initiatives like “Shop with a Doc,” which assists pediatric burn patients and their families during the holidays.

With more than fourteen years sober, Joe is also active in opioid addiction recovery advocacy. He has served on local, regional, and national task forces, organized awareness efforts, and supported families facing crisis. Today, his business, media, and charitable efforts continue to expand, guided by a commitment to responsibility and community. For Congressman Joe Mullins, each chapter represents an opportunity to build thoughtfully, serve consistently, and help others find stability and direction.
